The first WOTC (Wisdom of the Crowd) meeting occurred before the WOTC existed and before the concept was conceived.
As Declan Armour and Jonathan Bradley had finished a business meeting their conversation turned to a shared passion of theirs. Having both been beneficiaries of sound advice from many people over the years, they each wanted to achieve two goals.
- Create a means of giving back advice and knowledge to others.
- Create a means of continue to have increasing access to the wisdom of others.
They had one question in mind.
“How can we share more value to more people in the most accessible means?”
As it often does, the best idea came from the combination of ideas that followed.
They wanted people to be able to gain the advice of others without significant fees.
They knew that everyone has something to learn from others
They knew that everyone had something to teach others.
They knew that time was precious for busy people.
From there, the idea was born.
To gather a group of people.
Open invitation.
With no fee.
For only one hour.
And pose one question, the same question to everyone.
Then we sit back and listen to the responses.
This allows a platform for every member to give.
And every member to learn.
The Wisdom of the Crowd was born.
And only then it became apparent that the first WOTC meeting had just ended!
